One piece of a larger project I did during January.
The entire project was probably one of the most difficult things I have ever done, in terms of art. It's amazing to look at these finished pieces and see how much my skills have evolved in all this time where I haven't been doing such involved painting. ouo
This was done for my boyfriend's birthday (March 7!) using all of his favorite pokemon. These were especially difficult because all the pokemon he likes are ugly and mean-looking and hard to draw! D: I like to draw cute furry things and he likes dragons and manly pokemon. OTL but it was a huge learning experience for me. This side included two of his favorites for online play, tyranitar and garchomp. I decided to include mew (which is actually completely separate in the final prints, see the links to photos below!) as a little touch of myself and my wishing to draw cute things. This panel was a particular challenge. Not only were the pokemon really weird and nonsensical in terms of anatomy (how does tyranitar even move???), but the entire thing was BACKLIT. I actually ended up paint-bucketing in a shading layer, and then erasing out the not-shaded parts because so much more was shaded than not shaded, haha! I'm really extremely proud of how this piece came out.
I drew, lined, and painted everything by hand in photoshop CS6. I got a lot of help on the entire project in terms of composition and photoshop techniques from my good friend
who actually went to school for this stuff and knows it all way better than I ever could. 
I streamed most of working on this, and I don't think I would have ever been able to finish such a huge project without the help and support of all my great friends and the aywas community. Thank you all so much!
